Friendship, trust, and a shared vision—these are the foundations of S&S Payments and HR Solutions. Founders Duane Singh and Gabe Sofaer have been lifelong friends, growing up together and building a bond rooted in the belief that relationships are everything. From middle school dances to standing by each other’s side at their weddings and now raising their families together, their journey has always been one of connection and shared values.

After nearly two decades of climbing the corporate ladder and building successful careers, they recognized a growing need in the business world—small and medium-sized businesses were being left behind. As technology continues to evolve, with cutting-edge advancements in payments, HR and payroll platforms, the essential element of personalized, hands-on service has started to fade.

That’s why they created S&S—to bridge the gap between best-in-class technology and unmatched customer experience. By partnering with the industry’s top payment and HCM platforms, they ensure businesses get the best tech solutions available, all while keeping relationships and service at the heart of their approach.

Duane Singh

Co-Founder Head of HR & Payroll

Growing up in the Bay Area, I feel truly grateful to have friendships that have stood the test of time—many spanning over three decades, as my childhood friends remain my best friends today. Through these lifelong connections, I've learned that relationships are everything. This belief has guided me in building meaningful connections across all aspects of my life, both personally and professionally.

Staying true to my Bay Area roots, I graduated from San Francisco State University and have proudly called California home my entire life. Upon graduating, I embarked on a career in the Human Capital Management (HCM) industry and never looked back. I spent the first eight years of my career on the operations side with a boutique firm known for its white-glove service approach. During that time, I helped lead operations and service teams, implemented new products, and developed strategic systems that drove significant revenue growth.

My next chapter took me to one of the largest HCM companies in the industry, where I spent a decade in sales. I started as an individual contributor and eventually became a Director, leading a team of 100 sales professionals. This blend of operational and sales experience has given me a unique perspective on the full scope of HR and Payroll services.

I'm beyond excited to bring that experience, along with my commitment to relationship-building, personalized service, and innovative solutions, to my customers through S&S Payments and HR Solutions. My mission is to help businesses navigate the constantly evolving landscape of HR and Payroll with confidence and ease.

Outside of work, I'm a sports fanatic with a particular passion for basketball, an avid music lover, and someone who's continuously inspired by great leadership and the power of human connection.

Gabe Sofaer

Co-Founder Head of Payments & Lending

Born and raised in the Bay Area, I’ve always felt fortunate to be surrounded by a large family and lifelong friends. For me, relationships and genuine human connection have always been the most fulfilling part of life—and that’s just as true in my professional world.

With 17 years in financial services, I’ve seen firsthand how important trust and connection are. I’ve always cared deeply about my clients—and for those relationships built over time, I know the feeling was mutual. I’ve long admired the courage it takes to run a business, and I’ve found purpose in supporting entrepreneurs with honest advice and dependable service.

I began my career in 2007 after graduating from Chico State (with two formative years abroad in Spain and Chile). I started in business banking at a major U.S. bank, first in San Francisco, then supporting larger business clients across Southern California. Over the past 12 years, I’ve led teams of Relationship Managers focused on commercial credit, deposits, and treasury solutions, ultimately earning my Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) designation.

Today, I’m proud to lead the payments and lending practice at S&S. Our mission is clear: to offer client-first solutions that are forward-thinking, flexible, and grounded in service. We don’t just want implementation to go smoothly—we want our clients to feel confident long after the deal is done. And that means providing real, ongoing support from real people.

Outside of work, I enjoy life with my wife and two kids, staying active, catching up with friends, following sports, and keeping tabs on tech and financial markets. And yes—I genuinely dislike automated customer service. I look forward to picking up the phone and being there for my clients when it matters most.

Saten X. Singh

With over 44 years at MUFG/Union Bank in Transaction Banking, Saten Singh has been a driving force in client acquisition, consistently exceeding growth goals and maintaining long-standing relationships with high-profile clients. His dedication to delivering exceptional service has cemented his reputation as a top performer year after year.

Saten’s journey is a testament to perseverance and the American Dream. Born in Fiji, he moved to San Francisco at 18, alone and without connections, taking an entry-level role at Union Bank to make ends meet. What started as a job quickly became a lifelong career, as he dedicated himself to understanding business operations and financial health, steadily climbing the corporate ladder.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Saten has a deep passion for sports—having played soccer since childhood and becoming an avid Golden State Warriors fan. He enjoys the outdoors and cherishes time with his wife of nearly 40 years.

Now, he’s embarking on a new chapter, bringing his decades of expertise to help build S&S Payments and HR Solutions alongside his son and his sons close friend. With a strong belief in the power of service and expert guidance, he is excited to support businesses in navigating today’s financial and operational challenges
